5-Day Workshop with Rosalie Dace

Monday, December 2 – Friday, December 6, 2024, 9am-4pm EDT on Zoom

How exciting to know that “France is launching a bonus scheme to persuade consumers to repair their clothes and worn-out shoes rather than throwing them away and buying new ones!“ BBC. So get ahead of the fashion scene, relax and restore your soul as you take time to mend, meditate, stitch , smile and recycle as you make the old new again. Bring along that old torn jacket, the jeans with the gaping hole or a favorite worn out shirt. Spend time turning them into something totally unexpected and updated with simple applique patches and hand stitching All you need to join in the calm companionable class is the worn garment and a variety of threads and needles and a small bag of your scraps. This is not at all the way our mothers and grandmothers mended!

This workshop begins on Monday and ends on Friday from 9am-4pm EDT daily. This workshop is held on Zoom. Students must have their own computer, webcam, and basic computer skills to login and interact with the class on Zoom. The sessions will be recorded. Students will receive zoom links from Rosalie 1 week before the class begins.

Member $560/Non-Member $570

About the Teacher:

Rosalie Dace

I am obsessed with light and color, and love the rich contrasts resulting from the juxtaposition of cottons, silks, velvets, brocade, and sheers. I love traditional quilts but want my quilts to say something about their time and place in history and come directly from my life. As a teacher and artist, my aim is to fill my students with confidence and the excitement I feel about creating art in fabric and fiber. I aim to guide them in the direction of their interest in a non-threatening, supportive environment so that they create more than they thought possible.
