Quilting by the Lake (QBL) is a two-week quilting conference located in Geneva, NY, on the Hobart & William Smith Colleges campus on beautiful Seneca Lake. QBL began in 1981 as a four-day quilting conference in Cazenovia, NY, and has grown into an internationally recognized quilting event attracting over 200 participants from around the country and overseas. From the beginning, QBL recruited some of the most innovative and legendary quilters to teach, and that tradition continues today. Classes are offered in design, techniques and surface design. No matter what your style - traditional, art, or modern - all quilters are welcome.

Many of our participants have been attending QBL for 10, 15 or over 20 years. One of the longest running quilt conferences in the country, QBL continues to be a special community treasured for its creative environment and camaraderie. In addition to classes, the sessions include lectures, trunk shows, and other activities.
