Encaustic painting is an ancient technique invented by the Greeks, who used wax for practical and decorative reasons on their boats.
The two-day Encaustic Workshop is designed to introduce students to this exciting medium, and will provide participants with an overview of safety and 2-D technique, including how to prepare your substrate, application of wax, and proper fusing methods. We will also discuss how to set up a home studio and ways to incorporate mixed media into future work. You will leave with finished paintings!
There is a $50 materials fee paid directly to the instructor.
