About the Teacher

Alaina Hall is a ceramic artist based in Syracuse, NY. She received her BFA from SUNY Oswego where she studied ceramics and art history. After graduating, Hall worked at Clayscapes Pottery where she now teaches wheel throwing and handbuilding. Hall works with architectural and floral imagery to design patterns directly on her pots, thus creating conversation between surface and form. Hall sees each piece as an opportunity to create joy in both the making process and use of the pieces in your home. Hall encourages her students to take their work beyond the wheel with alteration and decoration.
