(6) Making leaves and flower pedals with narrow points
(7) sequencing layered appliqué

Chris will share during the class many of her own supplies, including 100 weight silk and polyester threads, 50 weight cotton threads, her beads, various embroidery threads, an assortment of silk scraps as well as Karen Kay Buckley’s “Perfect Circles” and “Perfect Ovals.”

She has conducted a quilt residency with elementary school children in the Webster NY School District under the auspices of Young Audiences of Rochester (2001), given trunk shows of her quilts at various venues in New York State and Massachusetts, and teaches silk appliqué workshops across the country. Her traditional quilts are often adaptations of designs by well known quilt artists. Hand appliqué and hand quilting continue to be her favorite techniques and indeed define her style.
