About the Teacher

Katrina Marie Overton began quilting 20 years ago with Peace by Piece Quilters, creating beautiful pieces to benefit Lutheran World Relief. Over the years, her passion for sewing has led her to contribute to various charitable organizations, including making pillowcases for Sleep in Heavenly Peace, lap quilts for Rochester General Dialysis Center, and kids quilts for Project Linus.
With a strong commitment to sharing her love for sewing, Katrina has spent the past two years teaching both youth and adult classes at Sew What! Her teaching approach is rooted in patience, creativity, and a desire to inspire others through fabric arts.
As an Army wife and Air Force Mom, Katrina has dedicated her skills to supporting our troops through Soldier’s Angels. Her contributions include crafting quilts, walker bags, and pillowcases for Landstuhl Medical Center and Walter Reed Medical Center. Her dedication to this cause has been recognized with the U.S. President’s Volunteer Service Award.
Katrina is passionate about sewing not only as a creative outlet but as a means to give back to the community and support those in need. She looks forward to continuing to inspire and teach others, passing on the joy and fulfillment that sewing crafts bring.
