Winter Art Camp: Talking Cloth

Ages: 6-10
Cost: $135 members, $145 non-members
Wrap and Bundle fabric to make planets, and then create an Alien Language that tells the story of your hanging universe! Learn basic hand and machine sewing to create a Self Portrait Story Doll – Tell a story about YOU! Create a 3D Box Quilt Sculpture using Stamped Words and Fabric! Create a Song about the Earth on a Journal Cover using yarn, fabric, buttons, beads, ribbons and found objects!
Masks may be required in the classroom depending on community spread. Masks requirements may be subject to change. If you are not willing to wear a mask please do not register for our youth classes.
About the Teacher
Griot artist Vanessa Johnson, is a native of Syracuse, N.Y. who practices in the art of storytelling. A Griot is a traditional West African Storyteller who is responsible for accurately reciting historical events through song, speech, reenactment, screenwriting and musical composure which effect society or a specific community.
