A Collaboration with Stone Quarry Art Park
We are pleased to announce a trio of solo exhibitions by artists Ellery Bryan, Patrick Costello, and Patrick McGuan in collaboration with Stone Quarry Art Park. This collaboration grew out of our organizations’ shared commitment to broadening public access to the arts and increasing opportunities for artists in our region and from around the world.
Each of these exhibiting artists has recently made work with and amidst Stone Quarry’s 140-acre grounds. Ellery Bryan is currently developing Fossil Memory, a film that traces history and memory through geology and astrometry; Patrick Costello’s ongoing installation, After Flowers, considers composting as a framework for reckoning with legacy; and Patrick McGuan’s new work, Songs from the Sky, employs a meadow, text, and multimedia sculpture to explore the contradictions in how we create meaning. Through this collaborative partnership, the Schweinfurth invites these three artists—whose diverse aesthetic approaches share a common vein of intellectual inquiry with respect to the ways art, landscape, and nature, both wild and cultivated interact—to extend their landscape-driven explorations into the gallery setting.
