Every spring and fall, the Art Center offers a series of readings by poets and poetry groups. All poetry readings are free and open to the public, and supported through funding by the Everett Charitable Trust.
Authors will read selections from The Healing Muse, a journal of literary and visual arts published annually by the Center for Bioethics and Humanities at Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY. The journal contains stories, poems, essays, and art on subjects located at the periphery and convergence of the medicine and the arts, such as illness and health, grief and acceptance, loss and love. It publishes artists and writers from around the world. The evening is free and open to the public; light refreshments will be served.
Members of the Central New York branch of National League of American Pen Women will be reading poetry inspired by artwork in the Made in NY exhibit at 6 p.m. during the May 3 First Friday event. The evening is free and open to the public; light refreshments will be served.
