Wednesdays, February 3 - March10, 2010, 7 – 8:45 pm
Led by local musician Bob Piorun, the Music/Performing Arts Series is innovative series that provides instruction, personal interaction, and performance opportunities for participants.
The music workshop was conceived with the idea of giving people of all ages a chance to interact with singers and musicians in performing many different styles of music in a band setting. Amateurs will get a chance to learn from and actually perform with professionals. Topics discussed will include: music theory, song writing, improvisation, music history and musical arrangements. Some rudimentary musical ability is necessary but just about anyone can participate. All ages are welcomed.
If you would like to partcipate, please review the guidelines below!
1. Performers should choose & learn a song or songs which they would like to perform from the playlist which contains songs from many styles. New songs are added from time to time. Suggestions will be considered.
2. Performers should arrive before workshop (between 6:45pm - 7pm) to sign in if they would like the opportunity to perform that evening. While we do our best to accomodate each performer, it is not always possible for everyone to perform every week.
At the end of the series performers will play to a live audience at the Boyle Center and in concert at the Willard Chapel.
Music/Performing Arts Series is sponsored in part by the Everett Charitable Trust.
